Chacun de vos albums en met un coup aux précedents ;est ce que c'est votre motivation ?

Dom : I think we need to top ourselves
Matt : It's funny because I don't know if you found why
Dom : It's an english , do we need to feel to top ourselves ? mm sometimes in the studio
Dom : Cause top ourselves in an english phrase
Matt : To commit suicide

Matt : Well I think each album 's got a little bit you know we've searched a different area of our own musical ideas you know i don't think we're
necessarily going bigger or deeper i think we're going for something different and sometimes it is successful in terms of musical contents sometimes it is a bit strange i think either way we're quite concerned with making each album have a little bit of a seperate identity

A coté de la politique sont l'amour et les relations de couple un grand theme pour Muse ! Comment ca vient ?

Matt : Well , the 1984 reference is probably influenced more a little bit by the book ! England is getting a little bit like this it has more cameras
watching you in england much more than any other countries in the world i think London's got somehing like ten cameras per person something ridiculous like this you know it has become very very in London you cannot move without being photographed wherever you go : every taxi, ervery train, ervery street every shop, everything ! your whole life can be filmed you know it's just quite funny though quite scary so that made me eum reminded me of the interest in that kind of stuff i'm being litteraly influenced in terms it is a very romantic location very beautiful landscapes moutains and lakes and stuff like that i think it probably added a little bit of kind of romance to the album

Vous avez été récemment élu "sexiest Rockband alive", heureux ?

Matt : i don't care about that it's a nice compliment but it's very strange don't think about that kind of stuff !

Pourquoi les groupes ne font plus de music ambitieuse comme vous ?

Matt : I think it is a very boring question so boring answer but the music industry has changed dramatically hum as you know it's reducing in size and for this reason in the 90's eum 80's ! especially eighties ! bands were given extraordinary budgets for making an album extraordinary like for making a film ! but what happened in this decade is the're has been a very big reduction is these budgets and so for this reason there has been a lot of succesful artists who are making a lot of low productions ! productions costing a little like record into X ! So i think it is one of the reasons why the most succesful artists in this deacade have been minimal in their recording approach eum white strips artick monkeys ! artic monkey's album is kind of self recorded album so i think that self-production has become more fashionable production in this decade because the budgets of the 80's don't exist anymore
but we're lucky because we do very well live so for this reason we are able to still make , still explore larger scale concepts within the album making process because we are not using the founding process for a record company ! You know you are using the phoning process for this one (laughs )

Matt, te sens tu comme une rockstar depuis que tu es dans guitar hero 5 ?

Matt :I still haven't seen it hum we had a game dom and chris playing the game hum world tour isn't it ?

Dom : Yeah i mean chris play a lot of guitar hero in the studio which is fun but not the one he was on

Matt: Yeah i've never seen it and i'd like to but it's good because a lot of young people discovered the music like my nephew my brother's son, he was
eleven he wasn't really into rock music like this you know but now he sort of know the bands because of this game which is quite good !

Qu'est ce qui vous passe par la tete lorsque vous pensez au futur ?

Matt: hum the mecanisms which are creating society could be called artificial selection from Darwin's perspective and it's basically pushing nature to
its absolute limits of capacity for human beings to consume i think we're approaching this limit i think there might be some scientific breaktroughs which
cause the expansion of the population a little bit further but i think we are defenitely approaching the limit of nature what natural can sustain at
this level so when you reach this point the only thing that makes the solution is natural selection hum natural selection will come in the form of either
war or famin or afterwards but i think that's kind of the future !

Dom : 2012, 21 like the film right now it will be destroying th planet

Matt : But i mean unatural selection on a grand scale if you look to the geolotical time always has a way to creating a new start so i think the question
is : Isthe way that human is set up is ever gonna avoid natural selection
because natural selection will always have the ultimate decision process in what happens on the planet the question is how long do we have until the next major natural selection process of geological movement it could be in 10000 years or a million years betwenn now and then it's just a case of constant attemps of pushing and you know the corporate structures have made a really god job of maximilizing the ability to survive but this at the same time it's very destructive effect on the earth
